Wigan Pride promotes and celebrates equality and diversity by bringing together arts, music, a street parade and positive messages at a big annual event in Wigan town centre.
We also support smaller activities that encourage equality across the borough throughout the year. Led by the LGBTQ+ community of Wigan Borough and supported by Wigan Council and Wigan Borough CCG, we also rely on the support of local businesses and local people to help us make each Wigan Pride event bigger and better.
As well as entertainment on the main stage, 2019’s event will welcome back the popular Believe Stage, which celebrates local musical talent, and the Autism Friendly Zone, offering a quieter space for those who prefer it.
Wigan Pride 2019 will also mark 50 years since the Stonewall riots in New York, which led to the development of the gay rights movement across the world.
As well as offering a fantastic day of entertainment for the whole family, Wigan Pride also helps remind our local community that equal rights are often hard won and should not be taken for granted. Celebrating equality helps us to value the importance of it and make sure that it continues.

Your donations keep us marching.
We welcome any donation, no matter how small, towards Wigan Pride.
The need for Pride is as strong as ever. A huge amount of progress has been made for LGBTQ+ community but the reality is, the struggle is far from over.
Members of the LGBTQ+ community still face so many challenges and stigmas, from kissing their loved ones in public, coming out to their friends, colleagues and family or even just being able to walk down the road as who they truly are.
That’s why Wigan Pride is free for anyone to attend and why we’re committed to making Pride the platform for all voices and the entire LGBTQ+ community. But, we can’t do it without your support.
So, whether you come to Wigan Pride to celebrate, demonstrate or simply party, it’s only free thanks to the generosity of our partners and from the kindness of donations from those who march with and for us.
